Just got the new CD “Asfar” (Arabic “Journeys”) by the amazing Palestinian oud players Le Trio Joubran.  They are three brothers, the fourth generation of a family of oudmakers and oudplayers, who look cool and sound even cooler.  According to one of the brothers   “We have two battles to fight. The first is for our career, and the other is for peace in Palestine, and the end of the occupation.”

They now live in Paris and Asfar is the result dazzling musicianship from out of this world.  Here they are in concert earlier this year in Ramallah.  Listen and enjoy:
